The weather is incredible in Southern California right now. Elizabeth and Diane have been collaborating the past few weeks on our new Spring/Summer 2014 Collection while Santa Monica lends the perfect inspiration. Outside our windows is sun, palm trees and 80 degree weather. We're not complaining.
But, we know some of you are flying to warmer climates during the winter to escape the freezing temperatures that have ensued the past couple of months. Here are a few La LOOPs to ensure your readers stay in place on the plane and your sunglasses are at your fingertips when your toes hit the sand, ocean or the floor of that cruise ship, and a few of our favorite spots to visit when the weather is right.
Sweet Treat: Beachy Cream : 1209 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica
Established in Malibu in 2009, this ice cream shop uses locally-sourced, sustainable and organic ingredients to create the perfect ice cream sandwiches. With flavors like Key Lime Cowabunga, Strawberry Surfer Girl and (our favorite) Ginger Wipe Out, they're perfect for warm weather and have us wanting seconds...or thirds...
Fave Friday Night Out: Abbot Kinney First Friday Art Walk : Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice
There's nothing better on a warm Friday night than to browse local artisans crafts, sample delicious fare from food trucks and listen to live music (of course a cold beverage is welcome too). Shops along Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice open their doors to locals, and the street becomes a walkable mini-festival from 6-10pm every first Friday of the month.
Best New Food Truck: Amazebowls: Los Angeles
Acai (superfood), fresh fruit and granola (gluten-free available) - one of our favorite breakfasts. Put it on wheels in a food truck and you have the epitome of Southern California. In the mood to sip? They offer delicious smoothies as well.
