The importance of giving back is something that I learned from my parents as a child around our dinner table. They talked about the heroes in our community as being the grass-roots providers and organizers. People who made even one person’s life a little bit better. Now as a small business owner, I am committed to celebrating and supporting those who do this very thing in communities across the U.S.
Today we announce our 3rd Annual LOOPin Grant, through which we will donate $1000 to five or more non-profit organizations nominated by you, our LOOPER community.
The many ways in which our LOOPers engage with their communities inspire us nonstop. We want to hear about what matters to you, and what you do to LOOP in and make a difference.
Last year we gave $1000 to each of these amazing organizations including Welcoming the Stranger, Swipe Out Hunger, St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels, Stepping Forward LA, and Children’s Action Network, all brought to our attention by LOOPERS like you.
In the words of Inez Recupido from Welcoming the Stranger, “I have taught English with WTS for about 9 years. The days I teach are always the best part of my week. I retired from the Philadelphia School District after teaching English for 40 years. I find volunteering with WTS to be at least as satisfying as my career, if not more so.” WTS provides educational opportunities in English, computer skills, & citizenship preparation to adult immigrants & refugees.
If you are involved with a nonprofit that 1) you interact with regularly, or 2) is an important resource in your community, please nominate them by filling out this short questionnaire.
Nominations will close November 15, and we will share the winners on Giving Tuesday, November 29.
We can’t wait to learn about people in your communities who are making a difference!
