Why We LOOP IN
Giving the Gift of Reading with LeVar Burton and Reading Is Fundamental
In honor of National Reading Month, LA LOOP highlighted longtime literacy champion, LeVar Burton. For every LeVar Burton Signature Series sold, LeVar is donating 100% of his proceeds to support Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), and LA LOOP will also donate three books to a child from the RIF community. We were so inspired by LeVar, LA LOOP will also donate three books to a child from the RIF community for every purchase of this product.
"I Made it Myself" Kids Mask Kits with Boys & Girls Club of America
LA LOOP is proud to partner with Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) to donate "I Made It Myself!" Kids Mask Kits to kids in need across the country.
We give one kit away for every kit purchased and let you choose where it goes! Select a Boys & Girls Club location near you and let us do the rest. BGCA will make sure the kit safely gets to a student in need!
#UnmaskingHomelessness with Downtown Women’s Center
Homelessness is a heartbreaking, unfathomable, and often misunderstood health and economic crisis affecting communities across our nation. Our partner, the Downtown Women’s Center, is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. To aid DWC's annual campaign, LA LOOP highlighted common myths about the issue of homelessness and share how LOOPERs can make a difference in their own communities.
#CookingConnected with A Sense of Home
Our LOOPERS got creative to help those in need through our Sketch a LA LOOP campaign. We asked our community to sketch, paint, draw or digitize a photo of any LA LOOP, then tag us in their masterpieces on Instagram. For every sketch we received, we committed to buying groceries for families in need through our partnership with A Sense of Home, an organization that supports youth aging out of foster care.
We are always looking for new ways to LOOPin. Are you an individual or organization that needs volunteers?
Get InvolvedBridging the Digital Divide with Para Los Niños and Common Sense Media
Thanks to our generous LOOPERS, LOOPin donated laptops to families in Los Angeles through our partnerships with Para Los Niños and Common Sense Media. It was a great example of how we can all LOOPin and help bridge the digital divide in our communities.
Getting PPE and Bringing Joy to LA Healthcare Heroes with the Greater Los Angeles Hospital Registry
LA LOOP quickly mobilized to respond to the extreme shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in Los Angeles hospitals and helped launch the Greater Los Angeles Hospital Registry.
Make a Card, Make Someone’s Day with Project Isaiah
Social isolation to curb the spread of COVID-19 has profoundly impacted the older adults in our communities. LA LOOP shared some love by sending 100s of personalized cards to isolated seniors across the nation.
