Our Story
“I was constantly losing my glasses.” — Elizabeth Faraut, LA LOOP Founder
The Origin of LA LOOP: A Solution Born in New York City
In 1999, New York City—one of the busiest, most fast-paced places in the world—posed a recurring problem for eyewear wearers. Whether left behind in a taxi, at a restaurant, on the subway, or at the gym, glasses were frequently misplaced. After losing one too many pairs of expensive frames, Elizabeth Faraut had an idea: create a functional yet stylish solution to keep glasses secure and within reach.
With a background at Le Figaro, Guerlain, and Guess, Elizabeth understood that the key to success lay in impeccable design and craftsmanship.
The Innovation: Where Fashion Meets Function
This vision led to the creation of LA LOOP—a sophisticated necklace featuring a patented swivel-hinge design that allows the LOOP to hold glasses securely while moving naturally with the wearer.
“LA LOOP blends the clean, elegant lines of a necklace with a simple yet ingeniously designed loop to hold glasses,” Elizabeth explains. “It’s the accessory people don’t leave home without.”
LA LOOP quickly gained recognition, appearing in The New Yorker, The New York Observer, and The New York Times, and earning the endorsement of a Vogue fashion editor. The brand attracted a loyal following of creatives and professionals who embraced its practicality and modern aesthetic.
From New York to Los Angeles: A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Community
More than 20 years and thousands of LA LOOPs later, the company is now based in Southern California, where Elizabeth continues to lead with innovation and purpose. Each season, LA LOOP introduces new designs, crafted from premium materials with artisanal production techniques.
Beyond its products, LA LOOP has cultivated a community of Loopers—individuals who value craftsmanship, connection, and giving back. Through initiatives like LOOP IN, the brand supports philanthropic efforts, reinforcing the belief that LA LOOP is more than an accessory—it’s a way of seeing the world.
