Georgia On My Mind / Spring Summer 23 Inspiration
"I discovered Santa Fe last summer – truly a magical place with its unique blend of natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant cultural scene. It’s no wonder that Georgia O’Keefe, one of the most influential American artists of the 20th Century, found New Mexico to be a source of artistic inspiration and ended up making it her home in the 1940s. The LA LOOP SS23 collection draws from O’Keefe’s use of vivid colors of the sunset pinks, magentas, yellows against a stark contrast of browns, greys, neutrals from the neutrals found in her depictions of desert and mountains.
We like to think of Loopers as trailblazers – doers and givers. This season we salute Georgia O’Keefe – an iconic trailblazer for women in the art world, achieving widespread acclaim and success during a time when female artists were still a rarity. O’Keefe’s impact on art and culture has been profound, and she continues to be celebrated as one of the most important and innovative artists of the modern era."
