Hey there LOOPERS! As we enter the Spring season, it’s always important to reflect on our roots and the seeds in which our company has bloomed.

The soul of LA LOOP is craftsmanship-and nothing shows this more than our collection of Sterling Silver necklaces. Our square link styles are still made by the same NYC family-run jeweler that helped us design the very first LA LOOP wearable. I had a chance to catch up with Jeweler-Extraordinaire Michael while on a visit to New York and he provided me with some pro tips that will help you protect your Sterling through the years.

The expert guide to Sterling care:

• Always store your Sterling in a dry place. If you have Sterling silver wear, LA LOOP’s can be stored in the same drawer with a soft cloth.
• If you notice that the Sterling has started to tarnish, soak in some polishing dip, rinse and then wipe with a soft cloth.
• Don’t have polishing dip? An easy DIY polish can be made with a mix of water and toothpaste or baking soda. Let your Sterling soak in the solution for 30 minutes and wipe clean.
• Last but not least, add a drop of lubricating oil to the hinges to keep them swiveling smoothly.
