"I'm a big connection person" -- Elizabeth Faraut, LA LOOP founder
It was perhaps in the stars that Elizabeth Faraut would create a product with a distinctive, patented link. At its heart, LA LOOP—and its founder—are all about connection: keeping you connected to your glasses; connecting LOOPERS to one another and their communities; creating a family of long term business partners, collaborators, and suppliers.
"I would have stopped doing this long ago if it was just about the product. For me it's about a passion for THE LOOPERS as well as for the Italians who make my leather and my Scandinavian agent,” she says.
Elizabeth started her fashion career in the 1990s with stints at Figaro Madame, Guerlain, and GUESS. These experiences, as well as her own natural style and vision, informed the luxury look and feel of LA LOOP, which Faraut founded in New York in 1999.
Tireless and dynamic, Elizabeth travels extensively to visit her LA LOOP vendors, seek out new materials, and to ensure the quality of every single LA LOOP. Woven into the culture of LA LOOP is Elizabeth's inspiring everyday practice of treating others fairly and with kindness—and also of giving back.
Elizabeth takes a hands-on approach to philanthropy. She is the Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute; chairman of the board of directors of the Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles; and executive committee member of Human Rights Watch. Through the LA LOOP, she encourages LA LOOPERS to join the Virtuous Loop and celebrates and supports their own philanthropic initiatives and volunteer efforts.
