Summer Reading a la LA LOOP

You know that feeling when you hear from someone that they just finished a GREAT book?  Every week this summer we are sharing our favorite new read.  

Everybody thought we were Crazy by Mark Rozzo: You will definitely want to hang on to your glasses for this one, because Mark Rozzo’s stylish romp through Hollywood in the 60s with Dennis Hopper and Brooke Hayward is a wild ride. For fun we're matching it up with the Bradley as your trusty companion through this crazy LA time hop.

Next up -- Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris: Sedaris hits us with a new collection of personal essays set in post-pandemic America circa summer 2022. Is his take funny and outrageous or macabre and dystopian? Maybe somewhere in between. We pair Sedaris' read with the Allegra for good luck as you make your way through this darkly humorous explanation of our current state of affairs. 

Trust by Hernan Diaz: Part of the thrill of “Trust,” the latest from Pulitzer Prize finalist Hernan Diaz, is that you just can’t, well, trust it. There is no thrill, however, in losing your glasses. Which is why you need a trusty LA LOOP, like The Gil.

Anna the biography by Amy Odell: Anna Wintour, a LOOPER? Perhaps not, she never takes off those dark glasses. You however, will likely find yourself in need of a LA LOOP when you pick up this can’t put down biography by Amy Odell. Might we suggest the oh-so-stylish Dearie. 

The Candy House by Jennifer Egan: The trippy, brainy follow-up to her Pulitzer Prize winning, “A Visit from the Goon Squad”, will have you reading and rereading all summer long. It might mean you need The Rae to keep you tethered to your glasses, if not reality.
